Sample Activity: Hide and Peek Milestone: Turns toward and tracks voices, people, and objects. Desired Outcome: Infants develop the ability to pay attention and engage and interact with others, and with their environment. The teacher places a toy under a container on the floor, then places the infant on their tummy on the floor. The teacher says, “One, two, three, look and see” and lifts the plastic container off the hidden toy so the infant can see it. The teacher observes the child’s actions. How does the child react? Do they respond to the teacher’s voice? Do they turn their head toward the container? The teacher hides the toy and helps the infant to lift the container along with the teacher. The teacher shows the child the inside of the container and observes their reaction. Do they respond to the teacher’s voice? Do they look in the direction of the toy? What other reactions do they have?

We’ve cleared a footpath to Preschool with our Early Preschool program. It’s built to meet the needs of 30- to 42-month-old children. We guide them toward working with others, following directions, following established routines, and developing a skill set that will turn them into independent learners.
